Becoming Catholic

.

RCIC

An important part of the Cathedral’s life is welcoming new Catholics.

The programme of children’s formation in the faith is known as the Rite of Christian Initiation of Children (RCIC).

It is a wonderful series of steps and stages for children aged 8-12 years old, that can lead to baptism, confirmation and Eucharist (Communion).

Usually children’s baptisms take place during November. Enrolments open during Term II of the primary school academic year.  The programme is held in Terms III and IV. Children can then continue in the following year to join the Children’s Sacramental Programme to complete their Sacraments of Initiation (Confirmation and First Holy Eucharist).   These are celebrated at the end of Term II.

All enquiries are welcome. We take you as you are and go at your pace!
