Normal Mass times- see Cathedral Masses. Children’s Liturgy of the Word is offered at 8am, 11am and 4.30pm Sunday Masses.
Our children will have many questions for us, and a lot of help is available: advice on washing hands, wearing masks and staying healthy.

Lent
The season of Lent presents families with an opportunity to examine our family life and to re-commit ourselves to the Christian practices of:
- almsgiving,
- prayer, and
- fasting.
Each of us is invited to do these things as individuals, but we can also do one or more actions as a family. Below are many resources that you can choose from that can suit your family.

Sunday Mass Resources
The Cathedral is an RCIA parish, which means it uses the Year A readings for the Third Fourth and Fifth Sundays of Lent. These readings are particularly chosen to help adults who are preparing for Baptism at Easter.

Here are all you need to prepare for Sunday Liturgy at the Cathedral, adapted for the home.

Ash Wednesday
As Wednesday opens the liturgical season of Lent. In our ancient Christian tradition, it is a time of penance and fasting. We usually receive ashes on our foreheads at church or school. However, because of Covid-19, we are in Level 3 lockdown to protect everyone, so we open Lent at home. Ashes symbolise the dust from which God made us. This year, we even fast from Ashes.
